Skid Steer Services — Land Prep, Grading & Site Work

Skid steer work for land preparation, material movement and site work — the muscle behind every good fence and gate project.

Half of a great fence or gate project happens before any steel arrives: clearing the line, grading the entrance, moving material where it’s needed. Red’s Mobile Welding runs skid steer and compact track loader equipment for our own projects and offers the same capability as a standalone service across the Fort Worth–Azle area.

With buckets, forks, augers, grapples and brush cutters, a skid steer in experienced hands replaces a crew of laborers — and our tracked machines work in soft or muddy ground that would strand a wheeled loader.

The Machine Behind Our Fence Crews

Every long fence line we build leans on the skid steer: it clears brush from the line, carries pipe and wire down the run, backfills, and grades the mess away when we’re done. Offering it as a standalone service was the natural next step — the machine, the trailer and an operator who does this daily.

Tracked machines matter in North Texas: after a rain, clay turns to grease, and tracks keep working where wheels dig holes.

Small Machine, Big Reach

A skid steer shines where big equipment can’t go — backyards, between structures, under trees. Gates as narrow as eight feet are enough. That makes it the right tool for residential grading, pool-backfill cleanup, and getting material behind the house without destroying the lawn getting there.

Operated hourly or by the project, with attachments matched to the task. If the job is bigger than a skid steer, we’ll say so and help you find the right iron.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do skid steer services cost?
Skid steer work with an operator typically runs $95–$150 per hour in our area with reasonable minimums, or by-the-project pricing for defined scopes like fence line clearing or driveway grading. Estimates are free.
Can your skid steer get into my backyard?
Usually. Our compact machines fit through openings as narrow as about 8 feet — a double gate or a removed fence panel is typically enough. Tracked machines also minimize lawn damage compared to wheels.
Do you haul away brush and spoil?
Yes. We can pile debris for your disposal, load your trailer or ours, or handle complete haul-off — priced by volume and distance.
What attachments do you run?
Buckets (dirt and rock), pallet forks, augers, hydraulic brush cutter and grapple. That covers clearing, grading, drilling, material handling and demolition-adjacent cleanup.
Is the operator included?
Always. We don't do bare rentals — every machine comes with an experienced operator, fuel and insurance included in the rate.
